Members Bob Williams, Chet Henry and Stan Tawser will be joining ophthalmological professionals January 31-February 7, 2009 in the Mayan mountain village of Chichicastenango, to provide eye exams and develop a permanent eye clinic at Good Samaritan Hospital.
 
The itinerary of service (a Special Initiative, fact finding grant) was presented to CDam by The Rotary Foundation and performed in Guatemala, May 24-28, 2008: as follows

Saturday, arrive Guatemala 2:00pm for orientation with reps of Ophthalmological network, host Rotary Club and GS Hospital. Negotiate room/board for medical mission participants with Seteca Tec Institutenand Mission. SI team will lodge at Seteca.
Sunday, meet with Guatemala City, Loyola affiliates and arrange local, surface transportation for 09 participants to and from International Airport, G-City, Seteca, Antigua and Chichi. In PM, SI Team departs for Chichi and evening meeting with Hospital staff and RC hosts.
Monday in am, SI Team meet with staff, toured hospital and discussed ophthalmological, clinical and surgical needs for Medical Mission 09. In pm, SI team departs for Antigua and pm meeting with ophthalmological network of G-City and Antigua. Lodging in Antigua.
Tuesday AM meeting in Antigua with ophth. network of G-City and Antigua. The team returned to G-City in the PM and an evening meeting with the ophth. network. Lodging in G-City.
Wednesday an AM meeting in G-City, with Loyola affiliates to review final details in preparation for Medical Mission 09. The SI team departs for return trip Chicago in the PM.
